Pre-Conference Workshops: July 29, 2025 Pre-Registration Required
Basic Moulage Techniques Course, instructed by David Shablak, is a hands-on starter course for individuals who would like to make more effective and efficient techniques to add realism to both standardized patients and manikin-based simulation learning. This half-day session is ideal for those new to simulation or those who need a refresher.
The Advanced Moulage Techniques Course, also taught by David Shablak, is an advanced program that builds on the basic moulage course. This course enhances your skills in advanced materials such as vinyl, acrylic wounds, and pros aid transfers suitable for both patients and manikins. Combine this workshop with the basic moulage technique course for a full immersive day of moulage.
Fun with Ballistic Gel discusses affordable techniques for the creation of task trainers and moulage with this economical material. Following a thorough review of the essential equipment, safety measures, and materials required, participants will have the chance to engage hands-on with ballistic gel.
INACSL Pre-Conference Workshop – Optimizing Simulation Operations: Integrating AI and INACSL Standards for Enhanced Realism and Effectiveness is an interactive workshop to give simulation operators a practical understanding of the Healthcare Simulation Standard of Best Practice combined with AI. Participants will gain strategies for integration of AI to enhance realism and operational efficiency
Who’s Sim is it Anyway?! A SIMprov Competition by Lori DeCino is an entertaining workshop filled with fun and laughter! Participants will engage in improv games designed to foster spontaneous conversations in simulations, all while enhancing professional development and teamwork skills. Two teams from the audience will compete in a hilarious SIMprov showdown, so prepare to either compete or enthusiastically cheer for your favorites.
This year, the previous digital poster session will transition to an in-person format on Tuesday, July 29th, in the afternoon. The session will highlight a variety of innovations, to include high-fidelity task trainers, diagnostic device simulations, immersive digital escape rooms, and communication skills workshops.
