Although I am not currently instructing in Nursing, we are finishing cardiac modules for Paramedic Students. This is the start of ECG interpretation, in addition to the integration of ACLS and PALS algorithms.

When I worked at a community college, I was the coordinator of a healthcare sciences division, so I had EMTs, paramedics, LPN, RN, etc. It was so fun running the acute MI sim with nursing and paramedic students. Do you want to build a new program? Do you want to advance an exisiting program? Do you want to build a new scenario or conduct research?

Hello All! I am working on changing our supply room to look more like an actual hospital supply room. We have started with wire rack shelving on wheels, stackable bins and color coded sections. I have also started re-packaging our flushes so that students are opening a “new” one each time. So far, so good. Happy new year everyone!

I am looking for opinions on EHR software to use in nursing labs. Currently we have KB Port med carts and use MedSkills/MedsManager. We have the KbPort med carts as well and use Docucare. They do not communicate but if you’d like – don’t mind facetiming you or sending videos on how ours flow. My email is kelly.hogeland@wallacestate.edu. Docucare also has wonderful customer service!

We use ChartFlow and are happy with it. They are very affordable and easy to work with.

This is an issue that our college is looking at. There is evidence out there that this ration is best but no specific standard anywhere that addresses this.

We are currently at about 15% Sim for clinical replacement. We are working to build more Sim to standardize what students are getting out of their clinical experiences.

I lead our simulation experiences with these students and would love to hear how you incorporate sim into your teaching. Do you bring it to the classroom? Do you use virtual sim? Etc. Cant wait to hear what everyone is doing!

Hi Holly. My role is nursing simulation and lab coordinator. The faculty try to tie the didactic content to the simulation that they have scheduled. For example, I collaborate with faculty when they are covering diabetes in didactic , then we plan to do a diabetic scenario at that time. This helps the students “connect the dots” between…
