A defibrillator simulator is a simulated medical device used during medical simulation scenarios to mimic a patient experiencing cardiac arrest, or cardiac based emergency. In real medical emergencies, a defibrillator is used to care for patients in cardiac arrest, which displays cardiac pacing or monitoring of arrhythmia presentations, such as supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) before, during and after treatment. Defibrillator simulators allow clinical learners to practice cardiac arrest and cardiac emergency based clinical simulation scenarios in a safe and predictable way. Simulating defibrillator use increases healthcare provider confidence and improves clinical skill performance.
There are a number of different defibrillators available for use by general public and clinical providers. Defibrillators can be controlled mostly by the user in cases such as AED (Automated External Defibrillators) or manual external defibrillators. Other capabilities include CPR feedback, multiple monitors/screens and simulated patient notes can also be created and also controlled over the internet.
REALITi 360 comes in a range of different configuration options. REALITi Go is described as an entry point into REALITi 360. REALITi Go is an advanced patient device simulator which has the ability to mimic monitors, defibrillators and ventilators. REALITi Plus adds on the ability to use a number of premium screens which mimic proprietary devices. REALITi Pro is the complete package which comes with additional hardware, five screens, video and CPR modules for learners.
Universal generic screens for monitors, defibrillator, AED and ventilators are included in all packages.
