Dr. Lee is a Michigan native who grew up in Metro-Detroit. Her thirty year nursing practice has included stints in High-Risk Neonatal Intensive Care, Medical Surgical, Float Pool, Labor and Delivery, Nursing Professional Development, Risk Management and Patient Safety. In addition to hospital-based nursing, she has held academic faculty positions at St. Clair Community College (Associate Degree and Practical Nursing Programs) and Kansas Newman University (BSN program).
Dr. Lee’s a academic history includes: Associate in Applied Science in Nursing from Macomb Community College, Clinton Township, MI ; a BS in Biology from Saginaw Valley State University, Saginaw, MI; BSN from Graceland University, Lamoni, IA ; a MSN from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI and a DNP from Chamberlain University, Chicago, IL. Dr. Lee’s DNP focus involved the utilization of mind body therapies to combat novice nurse stress.
Dr. Lee’s professional certifications include High Risk Neonatal Nursing (National Certification Corporation); Medial Surgical Nursing (Academy of Medical Surgical Nursing); Professional Healthcare Risk Management (American Hospitals Association); Patient Safety Officer (American Institute for Healthcare Quality); and Nursing Professional Development ( American Nurse Credentialing Center). She also holds a Six Sigma Green Belt. She is member of the Academy of Neonatal Nursing; the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses; American Society of Healthcare Risk Management, Association for Nursing Professional Development; Sigma Theta Tau; Phi Kappa Phi; National Association for Healthcare Quality; and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. Dr. Lee currently serves as a Peer Reviewer for MEDSURG Nursing Journal as well as various other conferences including, SSH Sim-Ops and INACSL.
Since joining TVHS , Dr. Lee has been active in managing the Life Support programs which have attained 99% training compliance on a consistent basis. She also coordinates the Simulation program which has re become accredited by SIMLEARN as a Basic Simulation Center.
Dr. Lee is married to retired Air force Officer . They have one adult son and a furry son. Dr. Lee outside interest include sewing, quilting, needlework, gardening, mosaics, and plein air oil painting. Dr. Lee is dedicated to promoting the professional development of staff throughout TVHS.
