Innov2Learn Expands the Role of Clinical Simulation Devices for Training, Recruitment, Serious Games

Healthcare simulation continues to grow and reflect realistic patient care. One of the primary concepts in healthcare simulation is to enhance the realism of clinical scenarios and enable healthcare professionals to develop critical thinking and clinical judgment. Innov2Learn has long been recognized in the healthcare simulation industry for delivering realistic, user-friendly, true-feel simulated point-of-care (SIM POC) devices used by top institutions worldwide. This HealthySimulation.com article will highlight how Innov2Learn can provide realistic simulation equipment to improve patient care and outcomes.

Innov2Learn – Simulated Products for Real Devices

The mission of Innov2Learn has always been to elevate learning. Today, Innov2Learn is opening a new chapter: to enable educators and institutions to utilize serious games and escape rooms for training, recruitment, and retention of healthcare talent. The belief at Innov2Learn is that the growing shortage of healthcare professionals requires simulation technologies to play a dual role: to engage learners with realistic, dynamic scenarios during training and attract and retain students by deploying serious games and escape rooms that are educational by design and far more than entertainment.

What makes this possible is the way Innov2Learnโ€™s devices work in game-like environments: fictional readings can be sent on the fly or preprogrammed, so the same scenario can branch unexpectedly, to unlock countless pathways that keep participants immersed and motivated. Mike Boutin, Innov2Learn CEO, stated, โ€œAfter one particularly successful demonstration, an institution asked me a question that has stayed with me ever since. They said: We understand that these simulators will help us create more realistic and advanced training scenariosโ€ฆ but can they also be used to recruit more students? At the time, I did not have an answer. That question stayed with me for years, almost haunting me, challenging me to look beyond traditional training.โ€

Boutin continued, โ€œEarlier this year at SIMAust 2025, I registered as an attendee to explore the growing trend of escape rooms and serious games in healthcare education. When I returned from that trip, I told my team with conviction: I finally know how to answer that clientโ€™s question. Now, with our devices seamlessly integrated into serious games and escape rooms, I can answer with confidence: Yes, they can.โ€

Why Innov2Learn Devices Are Different

Our true-feel SIM POC Bluetooth-enabled devices provide seamless connectivity through walls and over long distances, with no reliance on Wi-Fi networks. They are deployable anywhere, with no special setup required, whether in a classroom, a simulation center, a campus open house, or a recruitment event. Innov2Learn devices include simulated:

  • Glucometers
    Thermometers
  • Pulse oximeter
  • CO2 detector
  • Vital sign monitor

The Innov2Learn devices are designed for both Simulated Participants (SPs) and low to high-fidelity manikins, ensuring flexibility across all types of training. Key features for serious games and escape rooms include:

  • On-the-fly readings to adapt instantly when teams choose different paths.
  • Preset mode to stage puzzles and locks ahead of time.
  • Scenario mode to run multi-step sequences, triggers, and branching outcomes you can reuse.

Together, these capabilities let institutions run recruitment challenges, school-based training, and continuing education using the same equipment, while giving facilitators full โ€œgame-masterโ€ control from a simple app.
