Bio | With over two decades of frontline clinical experience, I am a specialist paramedic with a broad and diverse career in emergency care, education, and leadership. My professional journey began in the U.K. ambulance services, where I served in advanced clinical roles, including as a Consultant Emergency Care Practitioner and a member of a Hazardous Area Response Team. My expertise extends to operational and tactical command, major incident management, and urban search and rescue. Since 2019, I have held a senior academic post at the University of Portsmouth, where I teach and support the development of future paramedics. I am passionate about integrating innovative teaching approaches, especially in areas such as resuscitation science, climate change in healthcare, and community CPR training. I am working toward becoming a European Paediatric Advanced Life Support (EPALS) instructor with Resuscitation Council UK. My commitment to continuous professional development is reflected in qualifications such as the College of Paramedics Diploma in Primary and Urgent Care, and an advanced fellowship in quality improvement with Health Education England. I also serve as a qualified action learning set facilitator for the NHS Leadership Academy, supporting leadership development across the healthcare system. I have delivered international training in major incident command, notably with the Lebanese Red Cross in Beirut. I am deeply interested in the role of communities of practice, quality improvement, and technology in enhancing paramedic education and patient care. |
