Creating a Simulation Use Logbbook
We do something similar to what Kelly posted. I compiled a Needs Assessment worksheet for my discussions with the programs. Then the information is transferred onto the simulation calendar which is retained for documentation. Lastly, when you multiply the number of simulations by the students and the length of each simulation, you will get…

Creating a Simulation Use Logbbook
We have faculty to complete a simulation request form for dates and times per classes and we know that NUR113 always has 8 students per session, NUR114 has 6 and NUR211 has 4. We transfer the request onto a calendar and then multiply the number of offers times the amount of students and run time which is always 2 hours.
I hope this helps. It…

Creating a Simulation Use Logbbook
We are in the process of building our simulation program which includes buying more equipment. There are many good reasons for collecting data on the use of simulation, with one of them being showing ROI when presenting a proposal for new equipment. We have not been collecting any data or our simulation usage and therefore need to create…

Nursing Simulation Group a year agoShare a memorable moment when you learned something from a student.
During a debriefing session when I was new to simulation (before 2010), I stated to a student, ‘When you paused, I could see you were deciding your next steps.’ The student replied that she never stopped moving and didn’t pause. We reviewed the video recording. The student…

I love that! We have a simulation where the students have to prioritize the care of four patients. They have a nurse tech and charge nurse available to help them. During one of the debriefing sessions, I emphasized that charge nurses don’t take offense if you ask them to do point-of-care testing or assist patients to the bathroom. They felt…

@TChidume that is a great way to take a point that was valuable to a student and highlight it for other students.
