Abstract:
In this one-hour, informational CE webinar, Dr. Raquel Bertiz and Dr. Kellie Bryant will provide a structured overview of NLNโs professional development pathways for nursing simulationists, with emphasis on what educators can do better after engaging these learning opportunities. Participants will learn how NLN offerings build practical competence in simulation design and scenario development, facilitation and prebriefing, debriefing for clinical judgment, assessment and evaluation strategies, psychological safety, and aligning nursing simulation activities to standards and outcomes. The session will also highlight the many ready-to-use resources available on the NLN Simulation Innovation Resource Center (SIRC) websiteโsupporting nursing simulationists with tools such as Advancing Care Excellence (ACE) resources and other implementation supports that can be integrated into teaching and simulation programs. Attendees will leave with a clear approach for selecting the most relevant development pathway based on their role, experience level, and immediate goals, and for sustaining professional growth over time.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify professional development pathways and Simulation Innovation Resource Center (SIRC) resources that match your nursing simulation educator role and goals.
- Apply a role-based approach to selecting development options that strengthen simulated nursing scenario design, facilitation, debriefing, and evaluation skills.
- Describe key resources available to support ongoing professional development for nurse simulationists.
