The purpose of this CE webinar presentation is to educate and align healthcare teams on the updated competencies of the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) for 2023. This session aims to enhance understanding and practice of interprofessional education (IPE) and interprofessional collaborative practice (IPC) among healthcare professionals. The primary goal is to ensure that all attendees become familiar with the IPEC competencies, appreciate their significance in interprofessional team-based care, and learn how to effectively integrate these competencies into their collaborative practices. By achieving this, we aim to improve the overall effectiveness and quality of interprofessional healthcare teams.
Dr. Joyner obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1999. Dr. Joyner obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2019 and completed a Master of Science Nursing Education 2020 from Western Governorโs University. Dr. Joyner completed her DNP in 2024 from Post University. Her doctoral work focused on the impact of high-fidelity simulation on the attitudes of nursing students towards care of the dying. In 2021, she transitioned from nursing practice to the academic nurse educator role. Dr. Joyner is currently at Johnson& Wales University as Assistant Professor & Simulation Lab Manager for the nursing program. She is a Certified Nurse Educator, Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nurses. Dr. Joyner is a member of the ASCEND program sponsored by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. Dr. Joyner is a member of the steering committee for the North Carolina Nurses Association Simulation Council.
