About Codimg’s Healthcare Simulation Video Feedback Software

The minimum hardware requirements to use the Codimg software on a computer include 4GB RAM memory, an Intel© Core 2 Duo 2 GHz or similar processor, 256MB dedicated video memory (not shared with general RAM), a 1366 x 768 screen resolution, all Windows updates and the latest version of the .NET framework. In terms of operating systems, the software currently runs in Windows 8, 8.1, 7 and Vista (all versions for 32 or 64 bits).

High definition videos can be run on Codimg with up to 1920×1080 resolution, and correct playback of high-definition videos will depend directly on the user’s hardware (microprocessor, video memory, etc.). The ability to play back high-definition videos also depends on the video codecs previously installed on the user’s computer.

However, users do not need a video camera to use the Codimg software. Instead, a demo version can be downloaded from the Codimg website (Codimg Lite and Codimg Advanced) or under request (Premium) to the team at info@codimg.com. Once the demo is installed, the user will be able to employ the software for 30 days.

Users can open independent descriptor windows or graphic descriptors associated with the main template. With the “Codimg Advanced” program, users are able to add one independent descriptor window to their template. In the “Codimg Premium” version, unlimited descriptor windows and graphic descriptors are available for use.

The time needed to use the Codimg software depends on the software version in use. While basic usage only takes a few minutes to operate, more advanced versions will require more time. With increased use, experience and software familiarity, users will be able to utilize multiple detailed analysis options from all the products offered by Codimg. Note, Codimg cannot be installed directly onto Mac OS.

In the case of users who need to run Codimg on Mac OS, they must previously install an emulation software such as Virtual Box©. Alternatively, they can install tools with commercial license such as VM Ware Fusion©, Parallel Desktop© or Boot Camp© (this last software is already included in Mac OS X from Leopard v10.5). Once the emulation tool is installed, the user must then install Windows (preferably Windows 7 or 8) and then install Codimg on the Windows side of operations.

Codimg Medical Simulation Products

Codimg products include the Codimg Lite, Codimg Premium, Codimg View and Codimg Review and Comparison. Each product comes with registering actions, video playback, video capture, a timeline, data matrix, presentations, video production, a dashboard tool, live review and extra features.

All of the versions allow users to carry out an analysis by first considering what exactly needs to be analyzed. There will be some items, elements or situations to review, and the user must create a button for each one of them in the template (they will have a maximum of 50 buttons). There are two kinds of buttons: primary level (categories) and secondary level (descriptors). Descriptors are used to describe categories for a more specific analysis. Users can combine them for a more specific analysis.

The different versions also all provide a means by which users can create a customized template for their analysis. The button template lets them create buttons for each item or element they want to analyze. With this software, users are able to register events in three different ways: in real time, from a video file or without video source (synchronizing footage and registers at a later stage).

All the versions of Codimg have a timeline clearly showing what occurred in an event. All the recorded actions can be easily adjusted and reviewed. The timeline provides a working environment which optimizes the time spent on analysis, so that the user can easily lengthen or shorten actions, delete, duplicate, change information, add new categories (rows), change names and more. According to Codimg, the timeline is the most important tool for working with recorded actions.

These products support the export of video and analysis to other devices. Users can transfer video captured and the analysis to a Codimg software in the same local network (this option is only available when sending video and analysis together). They can send their analysis via email with Codimg format or also as an XML format. This last format can be opened in other timeline based software such as Vosaic StudioCode.
