Abstract:
The nursing workforce continues to face interconnected challenges, including limited clinical placements, preceptor shortages, and high first-year turnover, that strain both academic programs and healthcare organizations. Solving these issues requires more than isolated solutions; it calls for coordinated, evidence-based approaches that connect education, transition-to-practice, and retention.
This CE webinar explores how immersive learning and data-informed measurement can work together to strengthen clinical workforce readiness and performance outcomes across the nursing continuum. Drawing on insights from the Casey-Fink Surveys and real-world examples of simulation and virtual reality (VR), speakers will discuss how academic–practice partnerships, structured learning experiences, and targeted feedback can expand clinical capacity, support preceptors, and improve retention. Participants will leave with practical strategies for aligning education, nursing simulation, and workforce development efforts to build a more stable, practice-ready nursing workforce.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify key workforce barriers impacting nurse readiness and retention.
- Use data and immersive learning virtual reality nursing simulations to expand clinical training capacity.
- Align education and practice to support long-term nurse workforce stability.
