Tina Hayes

Tina Hayes, MSN, RN, RNC-OB is a nurse with over 20 years of experience in practice and staff development. She is certified in Inpatient Obstetrics and Electronic Fetal Monitoring and is an instructor of Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics. She is also an instructor of BLS and ACLS. She began her career in general medical/surgical nursing and became an obstetrics nurse in 2004. She has held positions as a staff nurse, charge nurse, preceptor, nurse manager, and clinical educator. Hayes became involved in simulation while working as a nurse manager and training staff in postpartum hemorrhage response and drills. The visual enhancement provided by simulation and the benefit of hands-on practice was inspiring. She moved into a full-time position as a simulation educator in 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center where a large educational and simulation center was built in 2019 to support a new Graduate Medical Education program. She served as the obstetric subject matter expert in simulation and participated in the development of a mobile simulation unit at NGHS, making simulation education available to areas throughout northeast Georgia. Hayes moved to Miami, FL in 2022 and currently works as a Simulation Educator at Miami University’s School of Nursing and Health Studies.

Eric Ayers

With just under two decades of nursing experience, primarily in Pediatric Emergency and Healthcare Innovation and Simulation, Eric Ayers fell in love with the idea of learning through experience. He is the Founder and CEO of emc2, and host of Purpose Empowered Podcast. Ayers is an optimist and thought leader with a passion for inspiring all to reach an understanding of true personal potential. Leveraging his background in healthcare education with his MBA in Healthcare Administration, Ayers’ focus is to add value within organizations by illuminating value within their employees. He is also a husband, a father, an ideator, an innovator, an author, and a lover of both possibility and humanity. It is his intention to change the world through shifting perspectives.

Wesley Lockhart

Wesley Lockhart, PhD.c, MSMS, CHSE, CHSOS – Wesley has been involved in medical simulation for almost two decades, having started his simulation career as a Standardized Patient throughout high school and college. His first position out of college while preparing for medical school was a simulation technician at UC Riverside, he fell in love with medical simulation and the impact it could have on future providers and their future patients. After deciding against medical school, Wesley pursued a graduate degree in Medical Simulation from Drexel University, received his CHSE and CHSOS from SSH, and is currently a PhD candidate at MGH-IHP. Currently, Wesley works as the Simulation Director at the newly established University of Texas Tyler School of Medicine after 8 years at UC Riverside. His interests in simulation focus on Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Mastery learning, Debriefing, and integrating simulation into established curricula. Wesley lives in East Texas with his wife Kristen, daughter Sophie, and 3 standard poodles. When not head down in a simulation scenario, Wesley enjoys video games, fantasy novels, escape rooms, and board games with friends.

Erin Carn-Bennett

Erin Carn-Bennett is a Simulation Nurse Educator for the Douglas Starship Simulation Programme in Auckland, New Zealand. Carn-Bennett has her Masters of Nursing and has an extensive nursing career within pediatric emergency and also nursing management. She is passionate about debriefing and all things simulation. Carn-Bennett is a member of the IPSS board of directors. Carn-Bennett is the lead host of the podcast Sim Nurse NZ.
