Daniel Irizarry

Dr. Dan Irizarry, MD, is Tactical Medical Solutions Senior Medical Advisor. Retiring in 2018, “Dr. Dan” served 26 years in the US Army supporting medical and special operation force (SOF) organizations. Serving as the NATO SOF medical advisor, he designed and launched NATO’s first combat medical simulation center to train SOF medical personnel. In his final military assignment, he helped launch the DoD’s medical simulation acquisition and advanced development office in Orlando, FL. Today, he helps guide TacMed’s research and development efforts to ensure medical and simulation products meet the highest clinical standards. He continues to practice family medicine as the medical director for Kanan Medical, Inc., overseeing the healthcare delivery to over 30K patients through 5 clinics in Central Florida.

With just under two decades of nursing experience, primarily in Pediatric Emergency and Healthcare Innovation and Simulation, Eric Ayers fell in love with the idea of learning through experience. He is the Founder and CEO of emc2, and host of Purpose Empowered Podcast. Ayers is an optimist and thought leader with a passion for inspiring all to reach an understanding of true personal potential. Leveraging his background in healthcare education with his MBA in Healthcare Administration, Ayers’ focus is to add value within organizations by illuminating value within their employees. He is also a husband, a father, an ideator, an innovator, an author, and a lover of both possibility and humanity. It is his intention to change the world through shifting perspectives.

Teresa Gore

Teresa Gore, PhD, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, CHSE-A, FSSH, FAAN – Dr. Gore has experience in educating future nurses in the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. Dr. Gore has a PhD in Adult Education, a DNP as a family nurse practitioner, and a certificate in Simulation Education. Dr. Gore is an innovative, compassionate educator and an expert in the field of healthcare simulation. In 2007l Teresa started her journey in healthcare simulation. She is involved in INACSL and SSH. She is a Past-President of INACSL and is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator Advanced (CHSE-A). In 2018, she was inducted as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN). In 2021, she was inducted as a Fellow in the Society of Simulation in Healthcare Academy (FSSH) and selected as a Visionary Leader University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing Alumni. During her career, Dr. Gore has led in the development and integration of simulation into all undergraduate clinical courses and started an OSCE program for APRN students. Her research interests and scholarly work focus on simulation, online course development and faculty development. She has numerous invited presentations nationally and internationally on simulation topics.

Melissa Jo Tully

Melissa Jo Tully, BSN, MHPE, RN-BC, is a highly accomplished healthcare professional passionate about education and patient safety. With a Master’s degree in Health Professional Education from the College of Medicine at Vanderbilt University, Melissa has honed her expertise in developing innovative programs to enhance healthcare performance and quality. As an experienced nurse, Melissa followed her passion for lifelong learning by exploring nursing specialties through her early nursing career as a float nurse, including working in critical care, emergency room, labor and delivery, and hospice. Melissa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role. Since 2009, she has been dedicated to simulation-based education programs, both brick-and-mortar and virtual. Driven by a deep-rooted desire to enhance patient safety and quality of care, Melissa continuously seeks opportunities to push the boundaries of simulation-based education. Through her expertise and leadership, she inspires and empowers healthcare professionals to strive for continuous improvement and positively impact patients’ lives. Melissa Tully is a trailblazer in healthcare simulation education, and her dedication to advancing the field is evident in her contributions and achievements.
