Abstract:
This presentation seeks to examine the essential elements in designing and implementing roles within Simulation-Based Education (SBE) programs. This presentation targets leaders and operations managers involved in hiring and training within simulation centers, focusing on the development of a structure to define roles, responsibilities, and professional development pathways in SBE programs.
The framework is based on the INACSL Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice (HSSOBP): Simulation Operations, particularly Criterion 2, which underscores the vital role of qualified personnel in sustaining and advancing an SBE program.
The presenters will discuss strategies to develop standardized job descriptions and educational requirements that align with the organizational structure, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities across all levels of the SBE program. Emphasis will be placed on delineating operations, leadership, and simulation responsibilities essential to the effective functioning of these programs. The presenters will also emphasize the need for ongoing professional development training and skill proficiency to foster staff development and advancement.
Learning Objectives:
- Design job descriptions for the Clinical Simulation-Based Education (SBE) program that align with the organizational structure.
- Articulate scope of practice and educational requirements for each professional role.
- Ensure that medical simulation personnel can perform the jobs skills or be trained to meet expectations.
